Mobility

The page allows you to control Mobility Attributes and set Mobility Schedules that can be used for one or multiple grants across the population.

Setting Mobility Attribute Control

1. In order to use the Mobility functionality, setup the attribute characteristics.
2. The Mobility Optionee Attribute Name is pre-populated with all the values in the Classification file.  This is a drop-down function.
3. The Percentage Allocation drop-down selection allows for each Mobility Attribute Name to be characterized as Percentage Allocation or otherwise. When Percentage Allocation is set to Yes, it means that that Optionee is concurrently available to multiple Attribute values (such as location or cost-center). If set to No, then that resource is available to only one Attribute value.

To add more Attribute Name Lines, click on the Add Row button. Clicking on Save saves the values. Cancel clears any changes.

4. Mobility Effective Date: The date effective which all grants will be subject to Mobility tracking.

5.  Expense Attribute Name: The attribute whose values will be used for Mobility tracking for Expense. All values setup in the Mobility Optionee Attribute Name will be available in the dropdown.

6. Tax Attribute Name: The attribute whose values will be used for Mobility tracking for Tax purposes. All values setup in the Mobility Optionee Attribute Name will be available in the dropdown.

7. Deferred Tax Asset Reversal Method: The trigger for reversing of deferred tax that was booked while expense was recognized. The methods available are: Tax Event, Reverse Prior, and Reverse Prior and Reallocate.

8. Tax Benefit Allocation Type default: The time period over which the Tax Benefit needs to be allocated. The choices include: Service Period, Grant to Exercise, and As Expense Allocated.

The rules defined in steps 4. through 8. are default values for Mobility tracking. The table below tracks all the exceptions to these defaults.

The table features Attribute Values, Reusable Tax Schedule and Tax Benefit Allocation Type.

9. Attribute Values: All Attribute Values setup in the Mobility Optionee Attribute Name are available in this dropdown.

10. Reusable Tax Schedule: If the Tax Schedule for the Attribute Value selected is different from the default defined in the Configure --> Systems page, it is selected here.

11. Tax Benefit Allocation Type: If the Tax Benefit Allocation Type for the Attribute Value selected is different from the default setup in 8. then it is selected here. The choices available are the same: Service Period, Grant to Exercise, and As Expense Allocated. The default selected in 8. will be displayed prior to any changes.
