Grant Search

The Grant Management page provides the ability to enter a Grant ID and search for that particular Grant (Quick Search), or alternatively, to add a set of search criteria (Advanced Grant Search) to search for a set of grants.

The Grant Management page also provides the ability to enter an Optionee ID and search for that particular Optionee (Quick Search), or alternatively, to add a set of search criteria (Advanced Optionee Search) to search for a set of optionees.  This option becomes available when SEARCH OPTIONEE is clicked.  Refer to the Optionee Search section elsewhere in this HELP document.

The Grant Search page displays when the Data tab is clicked from the main navigation bar.

1.  Enter a Grant ID in QUICK SEARCH input box and click View.  The selected grant will appear on the Grant Details page.  When the Grant ID is not found, a message will appear under the SEARCH button on the right side of the page.

2.  Enter a set of search criteria as defined in the Advanced Grant Search portion of the page.  All grants that meet the defined search criteria will be returned in the list provided at the bottom right portion of the page.  From this list, navigation to the desired grant is provided by clicking the magnifying glass at the right on the desired line.

The available search fields are identified in the drop down that contains the default "Grant ID".

The available operators are identified in the drop down that contains the default "=".
See the section below for details on the available operators.

The field to the right of the operator contains the data upon which the operator will act.

To expand the available search criteria, click on the word "add".  This will create an "or" search function. This is only valid  for an = operator and will not be visible when an operator other than = is selected.

To reduce the available search criteria (once expanded), click on the word "delete". This will back out the search criteria one-by-one.

To create additional grant search lines, click on the green + ADD CRITERIA.  This will add a line which can contain an additional search criteria.

To remove an additional search line, click on the red - DELETE CRITERIA.  This will remove the additional search options one-by-one.

¨    Operators (not all operators are available for all fields)

Operands and relational activity defined:

?     Equal (=)  defines an exact match between the search field and the input box (wildcards exempted).Applies to numeric, date and strings.

?     Less Than (<) defines a relationship between the search field and the input box where the value of the search field is less than that in the input box. Applies to dates only.

?     Greater Than (>) defines a relationship between the search field and the input box where the value of the search field is greater than that in the input box. Applies to dates only.

?     Range (Date Between)  Specialty operator. When range is selected as the operand the system immediately opens two input boxes. The first input box is preceded with the term “from” and the second input box is preceded by the term “to’. Both boxes must be  populated. Searches on a range statement are inclusive of "from" and "to".  Ranges apply to dates only.

+ search results:

This area is provided to allow for the search results to be sorted in a sequence other than Grant ID (default).

A drop down is available to select the field upon which the sort order of the returned grants will be acted upon.  This drop down contains the fields (columns) presented in the grant search list.  The returned search results will contain an upward pointing arrow indicating the column that the results are sorted on.  Clicking on this arrow will invert the sort order.  Clicking on another column will change the sort order to that column.
