Upload Data Page

The Upload Data page manages the upload and storage of your option data. The uploaded data serves as the basis for numerous calculations within the system, and is ultimately used to calculate the option expense.  The data also serves as grouping and sorting criteria for the reports. Before uploading files, it is strongly recommended that you review your data to ensure proper formatting. The extra time spent preparing the data will reduce the need to correct data errors after the file is uploaded.

Eighteen files exist: Grant File*, Vesting File*, Cancellation File*, Exercise File*, Classification File, Acceleration and Retirement-Eligibility File, Tax Rate, Forfeiture Rate, Disqualifying Disposition File*, Amortization Method File, Optionee File*, Leave of Absence File*, and User Defined Lists File*, Assumed Grant File*, Assumed Grant Vesting File*, Grant Modification File*, Modified Grant Vesting File*, Effective Date Schedule File, Schedule Assignment File, Grant Attribute File, Mobility Tax Benefit Allocation, Extended Grant Settings, Valuation Assumptions, Accounting Employee Status, Optionee Master, Optionee Attribute, Mobility Reporting, Leave of Absence, User Defined Lists, Mobility Control and Mobility Tax.

One additional file exists exclusively for MPA Awards: Conditions Achieved File.

Each file contains a particular type of information about the option that has been granted. The files can be uploaded individually, or can be zipped into a single file for easier upload. You can use a program such as winZip to bundle the files into one single file. The resulting bundled file must have a file type extension of .zip. For example, data.zip would be a valid file to upload.

Each file that is uploaded (either individually, or bundled into a zip file) must follow the following naming convention: filename.data type.file extension. This allows the system to correctly identify the type of information contained in each files.

A Delete link is displayed against each file uploaded in the Option Navigator. Only users with special privileges are able to delete the file.
